Job Description 

ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT

Reporting to Electrical Supervisor

Location: Head Office, Avonmouth, Bristol

Basic Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

BASIC PURPOSE

IES Electrical distributes Industrial Electrical Products to Electrical Wholesalers across the UK. We are looking for an Electrical Department Assistant to join the business as we continue to grow. The Electrical Department Assistants' role includes generating and increasing sales, supporting customers over the telephone, preparing quotations, purchase invoices, and warehouse duties including, picking customer orders, plus goods in and out duties, ensuring deliveries to customers are sent out on time every time.
You will be part of a small and friendly team where first-class service is key. The successful candidate will be assisting and contributing to the ongoing success and smooth running of the Electrical Department.

KEY TASKS

  • Answering incoming Telephone calls promptly
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Entering Sales orders onto IES bespoke system
  • Preparing customer quotations
  • Preparing customer orders
  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Serving customers when collecting goods
  • Developing strong business relationships with both Customers and Suppliers, including the occasional visits to Customer and Supplier premises
  • Light warehouse duties
  • Light assembly duties
  • Checking goods in/goods out
  • Managing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
  • Maintenance of department Website
  • Ensure the department is kept tidy and in an operational, efficient, functional state at all times
  • Stocktaking duties
  • May be required to complete other business activities on behalf of the company from time to time in line with identified skills, competencies, and experience

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Additional hours may be necessary from time to time when required to suit business needs.
